Bio: Cristina Santana
I was born in Mexicali, Mexico in 1985. I started taking dance lessons when I was 7 years old. I’m trained in Ballet, Jazz and Belly Dance. 8 years later I started taking Latin rhythm lessons such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Cha Cha Cha.

In October 2005, I joined Master Puppet Salsa Dance Co. I learned a lot and helped choreograph Salsa dance routines for the company.

In January 2006, I was asked by Peppe Alvarez, director and choreographer of Master Puppet Dance Co. to be his professional Salsa dance partner and I gladly accepted. We have now competed together at the 2006 Century Club Salsa Competition in Los Angeles, 2007 San Diego Viejas Casino Salsa Competition, The 2007 Mayan Salsa Competition, and have performed at the Los Angeles and San Diego World Salsa Dance Congresses. We also were assistant choreographers for the Mambo Dance choreography at the TV Show “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 3.

I currently teach group and private Latin Dancing at Champion Ballroom. It’s always inspiring for me to rehearse and teach there because of the great energy and dance environment.
